Sustainability
Inspired by the feminine, whimsical and wonderful, Livia Wednesday is a handmade jewellery and homeware brand based in the UK.
While the fashion industry is often known as being the enemy of sustainability, fashion still plays a key role in how so many of us find joy and express ourselves. I believe it is the responsibly of brands within the fashion industry to create and offer sustainable options that not only make you feel good, but reduce harm to our planet too. Below are a few of the ways that I try to reduce harm to the planet and to people while creating my jewellery.
I prioritise made to order, there’s no mass manufacturing here, which means there isn’t masses of unsold products being dumped into landfill. By only making what is ordered, waste of resources is massively reduced.
Materials used are high quality and non-toxic, not only does that make my pieces skin safe, it also means that they will last for years to come. I opt for glass gemstones and semi-fine metals when crafting my pieces, to ensure quality and longevity.
All orders are packed using 100% recyclable materials, you won’t find any plastics in our packaging. Prioritising cardboard and paper when packing our orders means that all materials can be recycled, although we always encourage you to reuse them when possible.
Thank you for taking the time to read about how I prioritise sustainability, I am always looking for ways to improve in this area, and you can email me with any questions at info@liviawednesday.com
